I was shocked to here of this loss and believe it or not I was thinking about him this week, because I saw a name of someone with the same last name as his. I felt like the Lord wanted me to pray for him at that time. I worked with him at MPN in the 90's and I sat right across from him and got to know him very well. He would glow when he spoke of his oldest daughter at that time. I would run into him from time to time and he would tell me of his life and glow when he did. I will remember his smile most of all. I am happy to have known him even for a short while. I will pray for your family that you will have peace and comfort during this time of great loss.

It is so hard to believe that Randy is no longer with us. We met Elaine in 2006, the first night we moved into our new home. We are just across the street from the Sperls. She had come to our door with hot muffins to welcome us to the neighborhood. We had just moved up from Manhattan. We had been concerned about finding quality medical care in Ulster County. Who knew that just across the street from us was this world class physical therapist? Anyone who had ever gone to Randy knows what a truly gifted therapist he was. But the real story is what kind of person he was. He was smart, compassionate, quick to help, hard working, creative, generous, and funny! This is an indescribable loss to his patients, the world, friends & most of all his wonderful family.

Mr. & Mrs. Sperl and Elaine, I am truly sorry for the loss of Randy. I noticed an extremely long line for the wake and because of previous engagements, I couldn't wait to get in. My sympathy goes out to all of you. Randy was a great guy and did alot for me during my theropy session. If it wasn't for him, I'm sure I wouldn't feel as good as I do today.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Randy's untimely death. He was a tremendous talent in the pipe band community and will be sorely missed. He was the epitome of a dedicated student and teacher. He had a strong dedication to mastering pipe band drumming both as an art form and as a science. I'll miss his quick smile and sense of humor. My prayers and thoughts are with his family. I was stunned and saddened to hear of Randy's passing. He was a major influence in my life during my time with the Amerscots and I would not have been the same without him. Knowing this, and knowing that I only spent a small amount of time with him, I know how much he must have meant to his family. I want to send my deepest condolences to everyone and my apologies to all for not being able to be there in person.

To Elaine, Randy's parents, daughters, and especially to little Abby, my pre-K friend: the unbearable loss you are all feeling now will ease somewhat, but the memories and love you all shared will never pass. Hold on, until the time comes when you can smile again, and know you have an angel in Heaven watching over you. Mrs. A

In 2005, I stopped by Randy's office to welcome him to the neighborhood after he opened his practice. I was seeking a good physical therapist and found a great one! I wanted to send my condolences to his family and friends. Randy, you'll be missed by so many. Keep an eye on those girls. Goodbye neighbor...

I knew Randy for a short 3 or 4 years and had the absolute honor to play for his solo competition(s) at 1 or 2 events......although I haven't seen Randy for at least a year now - his presence was so big, so etched in my heart and mind, it seems like less than a week. He will be missed greatly by all.

We are deeply saddened by your loss. We are very sorry we were unable to attend the service to say goodbye to someone who helped us so much. Randy helped us keep our sanity through a very difficult time and for that we will always be thankful. Thank you both so much. To his wonderful girls, he had great things to say about all of you. We send our love and all of you are in our hearts.

We are so sorry for your loss. We had the wonderful opportunity of working with Randy as a PT at Benedictine's PM&R unit. He always made the unit active & cheerful! He always helped others to achieve their most physical abilities. He always would speak of his family with a big smile and a proud heart. He will be missed greatly. I honestly can't believe that you're gone from me forever. When I found out my heart sunk. I'm having such a difficult time dealing with this. I'm your daughter, you're supposed to let me help you through hard times. And you're supposed to be there for me too. I hope you know that I would have done anything to try and help you if you told me. Hhowever I am so happy that my last words to you were "I love you and I'll see you Wednesday." Though you have no idea how much I could have made that happen. I'm so lost without you. I need you in my life, and I wish I could understand why you left me like this. Just know that I will ALWAYS love you and I will NEVER EVER forget the life lessons you have taught me...and there were many. I love you dad and we will meet again in the future. I'm always your Petey-Head.
